Hobbies
My hobbies revolve around music mostly. I guess I enjoy all aspects of it, but I have no interest in making it a career. It's good enough for me to get my ideas out there and get a reaction from people. The following list represents pretty much everything I am / have been involved in.
Media
i-see-sound
Was writing and doing technical stuff for i-see-sound.com. Not so much anymore.
Kindred Sanction(WAIF 88.3 FM)
I do a radio show called Kindred Sanction which focuses on local and regional music around the Cincinnati area. I do the show on the 3rd thursday of every month usually, and my goal is to focus more on the punk and metal around town.
Bands
Waffle
I don't know what this is, or going to be yet. We've played a couple of tribute shows, one original song has been played in public, and I bet they regretted every second of it.All we have right now is about 4 to 6 dudes that want to play music, and 2 dudes decided to get a practice space. Now if we could find some time to actually practice and write, there may be something else to write about.
Bulletproof Charm 2005~2006
I joined up with Bulletproof Charm in August 2005. I've been friends with Andrew Geonetta for a few years, and have jammed with him a few times. After Paperback broke up he called me up. I thought he was kidding so I decided to call his bluff.
Learned some songs, played some shows...
Paperback 2001~2005
From 2001 to 2005 I played with a couple of great guys in a band called Paperback and I would like to think we brought the rock on occasion. We released a CD, we played a couple of dates on the Warped Tour with Abiyah, we got nominated for a CEA and lost to Thee Shams, we played Midpoint Music Festival and had a blast. It's a bit of mystery why we broke up, but moving on is more important.
Abiyah 2004~??
Occasionally Abiyah will call me up and ask me to come over and lay down some guitar tracks for her. I happily oblige cuz it's fun to play something and see what someone else can do with it. Sometimes we play live too.
Das Pu Chen 2000~2001
Nick Franceschina, the Danowski brothers and I saw no reason not to have a band back in 2000, thus, Das Pu Chen
was born. Practices often involved Eric playing drums non-stop, if it
wasn't our music, it was me and him jammin on the Smashing Pumpkins or
Soundgarden. When I got tired, he played along to Dave Mathews CD's
until my head would explode. Nick played this ridiculous 6 string ibanez bass and often not care. We played a couple of gigs, and then saw
no reason to continue being a band. In hindsight Nick was the smart one for not caring.

Monkey Business 2001
Around the same time as Das Pu Chen was happening, another group of friends was inspired by the movie Rock Star, and decided it would be fun to do a one off show playing all the great 80's hair metal we could learn in a month. I think we had 4 practices, and actually managed to get a decent 10 song set together. We playedall your favs from Poison, Guns N' Roses, Twisted Sister, Joan Jett. Amazingly it seems that Bon Jovi will draw people in on Main St.quicker than anything. We did one show at the overflow and gave all the door proceeds to a womens shelter in Cincinnati. This was also to be Das Pu Chen's first gig. Andrew Geonetta's old band Virgoblique also played. Every once in a while there are threats to reform the band andplay out again. We'll see.
DJ Periscope 1995~ ??
My brother Aaron Willis, is a musician and all through college we both were writing weird electronic rock music. The name of Aarons project was DJ Periscope, he wrote most of the music on an ancient Amiga which has since died. I played guitar tracks and screamed on one of the songs.

Koontz and the Fuckboxx 1992~??
DJ Periscope was Aarons project, where mine was called Koontz and the Fuckboxx.Originally it was supposed to be and Aaron and we had a few songs that got recorded but I've lost them (this was before regular folks could burn cd's). Anywho, at the time Aaron was involved in another band called Fudgie and Fufu(who's live shows are legendary) I got tired of waiting and I had a good batch of angry tunes and decided to put them out under the name. Our first gig ever in Cincinnati was playing at Sudsy Malones we opened for Chalk who blew everyone away and made me realize independent music canin fact whoop ass. Our set actually consisted of DJ Periscope songs as well. I don't think anyone really noticed.

Production/Recording
Super 77 - The Ghost of Howard 2005
Super 77 being a great bunch of guys, and a great band gave me the opportunity to tell Ken Petrosky of on-site-audio what buttons to push to make them sound they way I think they should sound. So I basically acted as the set of ears that needed to be happy before the album mastering could be considered done. I am very happy with the final results, and I feel it captures the essence of what makes Super 77 one of my favorite bands.
Paperback - Glyph 2002
I had the equipment and I was supposed to know how to work it. It was recorded in our practice space over the course of a month and I spent New Years Eve and New Years Day mastering the thing. For what we had to work with, I'm pretty pleased with it overall. You can download all 8 tracks from here if you want.
Fudgie and Fufu - Bukkake 2001
Fudgie and Fufu asked me to record thier vocals and backing tracks to their second release "Bukkake", probably cuz I had recording equipment, I'd be lying if I said it was easy. I remember spending an enormous amount of takes on a 30 second song called "We Become the Night Hairwise". It was a fun time seeing them work though. Lot's of coffee, cigarettes and dog hair. Me and David Enright ended up mastering it too.
Deltoro - Gasoline 2001
Recorded Mixed and mastered along with David Enright. This track appears on the compilation "Datawaslost : Building" available at DataWasLost.net
